History
Built circa. 1835 these handsome Grade II listed, late Georgian townhouses had very notable residents including a young Princess Victoria and Prince Louis Mountbatten (parents to Louis Mountbatten, 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma). A couple of doors down lived Sir Winston Churchill who was known to have regular, neighbourly dealings with the royal couple.
The secret, residential gardens of Eccleston Square were once the exclusive picnic spot for the elite residents and their high-society and royal friends, like Oscar Wilde.
In 2010, the townhouses were acquired by an Anglo-French hotelier family and a full renovation of the buildings took place over a two year period to create what is today Eccleston Square luxury boutique hotel.
Technology
Technology is a prominent feature in the design of Eccleston Square Hotel and exists on two levels: guests will experience a wide range of intuitive, user-friendly amenities such as Smartglass bathroom walls, in-room concierge tablets, electronically adjustable beds, powered curtains to mention but a few.
They will also benefit from layers of invisible technology including our newly upgraded, highly sophisticated building and energy management system designed to optimise their comfort without them ever knowing.
Design
The hotel public areas exude an ambiance of understated chic and luxury where the original historical architectural features and high ceilings are enhanced by beautiful modern Italian Minotti furniture.
The luxurious textures and finishes are carried over into the elegant guestrooms where layers of comfort and wellbeing are purposefully integrated into the design to engender restfulness and the best night’s sleep.
