Hyde Park

Hyde Park is one of London’s major parks and one of four Royal Parks. Hyde Park is located in the heart of London and is only a 10 minutes taxi ride from Eccleston Square Hotel. Hyde Park is a lovely landmark to visit in London and you will also see the Sepertine which is a 40 acre recreational lake. In Spring/Summer time you are able to rent rowing boats on stroll down the Sepertine.

Interesting fact: Hyde Park was created by Henry VII in 1536 and used it as a hunting ground and opened to the public in 1637.

Hyde Park is also home to large events. In the winter Hyde Park showcases Winter Wonderland which offers, winter markets, Beer Gardens, festive fairground rides, ice-skating, grottos and mulled wine galore. This event is free to attend, however there are a few attractions that you will need to be booked in advance as it sure gets busy at times. Winter Wonderland usually takes place every year from mid November to mid January.

In the summer, Hyde Park is home to British Summer Time which is a six day event (usually taking place from end of June to beginning of July) and showcases major top liners and impressive artists.
